Hannibal, now 5 years and with the onset of arthritis, needs a new bed to offer him maximum comfort and support!

Currently he sleeps on an 'egg box' type foam mattress but this has become compressed due to his (naturally great - but not excessive -) weight!!.

In the past, our Saints have always had Vet Bedding but I think Han could do with more support.

I'd be really interested to hear what other pet owners with Saints in their middle to senior years recommend!!!

Over to you!!!

I can't believe he's already 6 months old. My little man is not so little anymore at 103 lbs and 28 inches tall. None of his parts match, his head is so big he looks like a bobble-head, his butt is close to two inches taller than his front. I'm not sure if his ears and lips are growing, or if they're just being affected by gravity, but they too look bigger/longer.

One thing that hasn't changed is his temperament/personality. He is still a baby, a lovebug, a momma's boy. He is calm and mellow, ...

Hi All

I received my KC Accredited breeders newsletter yesterday.

Included under the listing 'Breeding age parameters among the KCAB changes for 2010' they have listed under St Bernards to 'Add recommendation Bitches under 2yrs not to produce a litter'. It also goes onto say that the changes are affective from Jan 1st 2010 & existing AB members have 6mths grace to come into line with them.

an update of all requirements can be found at:

Hi Guy's Just to let you know we lost baby BaliAnn on Wednesday, it appears she came into contact with rat poison either via a dead rat or the poison itself. We are as you can imagine devastated she was only 17 weeks old. There are warehouses across the fields from where she lived and fear the rat may of originated from there. R.I.P little girl we all miss you,.

Hi, We have a 2 and a half year old Bernard, who has developed a problem with his cruciate ligament. We have had two specialists look at this, and both have confirmed they can try and operate on this, but we are concerned that it may not rectify the long term problem, as he has hip dysplasia which may have contributed to the problem, and also cysts in his front paws which flares up now and again. We understand that the rehabilitation period will be critical, and substantial, but we are concerned ...

A seasonal question!
I've heard that dogs should not be given turkey and that many dogs suffer digestive upsets after Christmas because they've shared their owners' Christmas dinner - opinions please!

More Norm... 50lbs of love

I thought I would share some more photos of my little man. Norm is the sweetest pup I've ever had... calm, confident, outgoing... he has phenomenal bite inhibition and is ever so gentle, even with the smallest children. Needless to say I love him to bits.

Here is a video clip of my little buddy - those eyes just melt my heart
